Candle Tips

CANDLE BURNING:

Before lighting your candle, take off the label and trim the wick to 1/4". Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" throughout the burn. Check wick every half-hour or so.

Let candle burn at least two hours at a stretch for an even, smooth burn. Shorter burns make the wick burrow inside the candle. Such wicks are hard to relight because they don't get enough air. Carefully break off the top edges of the candle to provide airflow before lighting the candle next time.

Place burning candle where it's draft free. Open windows, forced-air heat, high foot traffic - all can make candles drip or burn unevenly.

Always burn candles in fireproof holders. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

BEESWAX AND BLOOM:

Being a natural substance, the color and shade of beeswax varies.  We seek out a golden yellow color.  Over time, all beeswax develops a powedery film on its surface.  This is called "bloom."  It is not a sign of deterioration, but natural tannin exuded from the wax.  Simply remove the bloom with a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting or use a damp rag.

Enjoy!
