Product Mission
To hand craft, distribute and sell the highest quality candles at the least cost to Mother Earth with unequivocal attention to detail incorporating the most natural and wholesome ingredients available.

To operate the company in a way that minimizes our carbon footprint, maximizes the health and happiness of our employees and customers, and supports humanitarian organizations that align with our progressive values.

100% Renewable Energy

The Sunbeam Candles shop runs on a 3,520W solar electric (photovoltaic) system. This system ties directly to the utility grid–no batteries–and generates roughly 10 kWh per day or 3,750 kWh per year of pollution-free electricity. What electricity we don’t make, we buy from companies producing electricity from 100% renewable resources such as wind power and biomass generation. So, all the energy we use at Sunbeam Candles is renewable, all year long.

At Sunbeam Candles, we strive to be as green and clean as possible in all aspects of our everyday business. We ship all packages through UPS' “carbon neutral” program, which invests in reforestation and other projects that reduce the carbon level in the atmosphere. These investments are based on how much carbon is actually released in the delivery process for each shipment, and so through our participation the climatic impact of every Sunbeam Candles delivery is essentially offset, at no extra cost to you. Plus, no plastic! Our packing materials consist of 100% paper products that can all be recycled.

Living Wage Employer

Sunbeam Candles is committed to paying a living wage to all its employees. As a result, we have pledged to pay a minimum wage equal to or greater than the local living wage as determined by the Tompkins County Living Wage board. The board performs an extremely in-depth review of the local cost of living and adjusts its rate every two years.
