About Sunbeam
Sunbeam Candles was founded in 2004 by David Gould, a candle maker with a passion for craftsmanship, sustainability, and supporting people and the planet. What began as a solo project has grown into a small, dedicated team still working by hand in a workshop just outside Ithaca, NY.
Now 21 years in, Sunbeam remains proudly independent and owner-operated. You will still find David pouring candles, developing new scent blends, and guiding the business with the same hands-on spirit that started it all. His founding belief still holds true: that what we create and how we create it truly matters.

Our mission consists of three interrelated parts
Product Mission
To handcraft, distribute, and sell the highest quality candles with the least cost to Mother Earth. We do this with unwavering attention to detail and by using the most natural and wholesome ingredients available.
Social Mission
To operate in a way that reduces our environmental impact, supports the well-being of both our team and our customers, and gives back to organizations doing meaningful work in the world.

To run the company sustainably - fostering healthy, steady growth while creating opportunities for purpose-driven work.
